New Paintings Fundraising Appeal

Published on October 17, 2022

Dear Parishioners,

I am delighted to say that the six large paintings by the late 19th century Italian painter Francesco Gagliardi are now looking splendid on the walls of this beautiful Church. We are currently working on an information sheet to explain the meaning and significance of each painting.

A project of this scale however does not come without cost. Each painting was carefully rolled and transported from Clonliffe College for conservation work at Trinity College Dublin before arriving in Rathmines Church where conservation and restoration engineers constructed secure wall fittings. Therefore, if you are in a position to make a donation no matter how small towards the costs of this project it would be very gratefully received. Thank you for your generosity and on-going support.

Next year our parish is 200 years old and I feel these paintings are a wonderful boost for all of us to enjoy. Envelopes for donations are at the back of the Church for your convenience.

Best wishes,
Fr Andrew PP
